This code of conduct was developed twenty five years ago on March 2,1981by the students of Pacific Martial Arts to  meet their need for a philosophy behind the training. The students foresaw problems that would develop during training and the need to keep harmony.

  • To show respect and tolerance for all people
  • To give and receive criticisms in a positive manner
  • To accept responsibility for teaching others and to share knowledge of Karate-do
  • To welcome actively and to assist new students in the dojo
  • To exhibit a positive personality in the dojo through a clear mind concept and by leaving personal problems, unpleasant moods and emotions outside the dojo
  • To allow each person a sense of dignity and worth
  • To have open dialogue between all belt levels and with the instructors
  • To recognize the symbolisms of the Pacific Martial Arts and to realize that outside conduct and achievements reflect on the whole dojo
  • To train with consistency and dedication
  • To avoid speaking negatively of any member or the instructor and to discuss any misunderstandings in a direct, courteous manner with the person involved
  • To show loyalty to the instructor and the dojo in the same sincere way you will expect to receive loyalty from your future students
  • To fulfill duties and service to the dojo unselfishly and willingly

  The PMA Fight Song

Let's give a cheer for old PMA.
It never falters. It never fails.
Praise our seniors, standing strong,
True in the spirit of our name.

Strength, with kindness,
That is our aim.
We've got the Kiai's
We've got the Fame.

Feel our spirit strong of heart and this is our fighting song,
RAH RAH RAH!!!

The PMA Fight Song was formed many years ago and borrows from several great institutions that used the same music. Among those are some of the great old fraternities of the universities, and particularly the Notre Dame fight song for its football team. PMA students all learn this song early and are able to sing it both fast and spirited but also slow and rather hymnal. If you would like to hear the tune again and sing along, simply refresh or reload your browser.
